Fresh Catch Isdaan at Gerona, Tarlac

It’s been a busy week for us last holiday. Oct. 31, we went to visit my mom at Himlayang Pilipino together with my two sister-in-laws, hubby and daughter. Right after lunch, our family went to Laguna to visit my mom-in-law’s dead relatives. The next day (Nov.1), we hit the road again to visit my father-in-law’s relatives in Gerona, Tarlac. It’s been 10 years since my hubby’s dad visited the place and it’s our first time (Nicole & I) going there.

On our way to my hubby’s aunt house, we ate lunch at Isdaan.

We ordered Mama Chit which is a combination of fried seafood and meat (crabs, tilapia, shrimp, liempo, longganisa, chicken and lumpia).

According to the waiter, Chicken Tinupig is their specialty. It is like inasal but it’s marinated in coconut milk.

Hototai which is a mixed vegetable soup.

I heard and read that there’s nothing special with their food and boy they were right! :D There are only two things that made us dine here, first is to experience smashing plates on a wall which is a great stress reliever! For Php 30, you get to throw 5 plates! There are other things that you could throw like mugs and vases. According to the attendant, you need to shout “tacsiyapo” before throwing to get the fell of it. It is a kapampangan bad word meaning “P….I….” (sorry, can’t type the whole word). :)

And of course, our second reason would be pictures, pictures

and more pictures! :) We just love this pic because it looks like you’re in Thailand! :D If you don’t mind dining with FLIES and just want to have your picture taken here then you can try visiting this place. I understand that it’s an open restaurant with floating cabanas but I hope they would do something about those pesky flies!
