Roaming Mum

Last Monday morning, I was contacted via SMS by a program researcher of GMA 7′s Unang Hirit asking me if I am available on Wednesday for a live TV guesting regarding my customized cupcakes. She said that she found me through the net and was interested at my work! Being a newbie, I didn’t take it seriously since the message is just through text. I thought it was a scam so I ignored it! I had a couple of missed calls from the same number so I checked online if this is true or not. I replied to her message that I am available on Wednesday and she said that she will notify me the next day (Tuesday) if there will be any changes.

Around lunch time yesterday (Tuesday), she informed me that my guesting will push through today (Wednesday) and I need to provide 50 cupcakes with design and 15 blank ones for the hosts to decorate! 50 would be a huge order if this is not true! So I asked for her landline to verify. I even searched for that number online and called her. We exchanged several text messages regarding the details, ingredients, equipment needed, time etc. I started baking around 4pm, at the same time I need to reply to her messages! I finished decorating around 11pm but it’s still not the time to sleep…I have to do my online job!!! I didn’t bother checking what would I wear!!! I just want to sleep!

I woke up at 2:30am because I was worried that my icing won’t be enough. So I made another batch.  My contact said that I should be there at 4:30am and there would be a service van to fetch us from our location. I asked my hubby to bring us there instead because I was afraid that they would kidnap us! LOL! I will not be convinced that this is true unless we’re already there! As soon as the guards allowed us to come in and one of their staff welcomed us, that was the only time I believed that this really happening! We immediately prepared for our stuff to display, ingredients to be used  in the demo, tinted some icing and put in the pastry bag.

At exactly 6:30am, our segment came out live. Here’s the clip:

I forgot to give the camera to my companion before the show starts so she wasn’t able to take a lot photos! Here are the only ones we have.
