It’s another long weekend for our non – call center friends! Malacañang yesterday declared May 3 as a non – working holiday throughout the country. This is to commemorate Labor day May 1 which happen to fall on a Saturday.

The new edict is in line with the government’s thrust of encouraging holiday economics, which provides employees a longer weekend, encouraging them to go out of town and hopefully spur the country’s tourism industry.
“(It also) encourages families to get together and strengthen their relationship towards a more productive environment, as well as promotes domestic tourism and enables employers to plan their work schedules effectively and efficiently, resulting in improved productivity which is achieved whether the holiday falls on Friday or Monday,” Mendoza said in the issuance.

A 6.1 earthquake hits Lubang Island, Occidental Mindoro at 1:29pm today! We were on the road when it happened so we were unable to feel it.
According to ABS – CBN news,
The quake was felt strongest in Looc, Lubang Island and Manila at Intensity 5.
It was also felt at Intensity 4 in Quezon City, Mandaluyong City, Makati City, Pasay City, Talisay town in Batangas province, Taguig City and Pasig City.
It was Intensity 3 in Bagac town in Batangas province, Canlubang in Laguna, Clark in Pampanga, Rosario and Trece Martires in Cavite province, Marikina City and Tagaytay City.
It was felt in Calamba town in Laguna province, Legaspi City in Albay and Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro at Intensity 2.
Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum said they were not expecting any damages from the earthquake, and there was no need to issue a tsunami warning.
“This is not significant in terms of magnitude,” Solidum said, adding that only minor aftershocks may also take place.
New Year of 2009, our family went to Dino’s Alive in MOA. This year, Jan. 1, 2010, we (hubby, Nicole and I) went to Araneta Coliseum to watch Disney on Ice! This would be Nicole’s first time to enter the Coliseum! At the entrance, you will find a booth wherein it sells the show’s program for Php 350. There are a lot of people and some kids even wears their minnie/mickey mouse costumes! We actually paid for 3 seats but Nicole doesn’t want to sit! Bummer! So we just had it occupied with our bags while she clings unto me and sits on the arm rest! Since we’re seated in Upper Box A (row B), we were fortunate enough to cover the whole show on video courtesy of our HD handycam! Now, I’m having a hard time transferring the file to our popcorn ‘coz the file is too large! 
Have to convert the files first but our MAC is now running out of space! sigh…

I remember watching Disney on Ice twice when I was a kid. And now, I’m bringing my own daughter! We already bought our tickets this afternoon and I’m so excited! This would be my daughter’s first time to enter the Coliseum and watch a live show!
